Metro Bank Activity

These photos are of when the children took part in an event whereby we had been approached by Metro Bank Romford who were running during June 2019 a free educational programme for children aged 7 and above.

They attended our setting during the month of June to talk to the children about financial skills and helping them to build a financial understanding and financial capability, in accordance with the government guidelines and the national curriculum.

This programme provideded three club-based sessions in the afternoons to talk about Banking, Saving and Budgeting with a fourth session being an opportunity for the children with supervising staff to visit Metro Bank for 45 mins during school club hours for a tour of the branch and to speak to the trained bank colleagues.

One or two of the sessions included a game surrounding savings and accrued interest.

It was felt that this programme will be a good opportunity to help the children understand the benefits of savings and budgeting and those children attending were with the written consent from the parents to have photos taken and placed on our website and copies of photos were provided to the Bank for the advertising campaign
