What Your Child Will Be Doing At Our Romford Nursery
Some of the activities will be age specific, here’s a breakdown of our philosophy and what we offer based on your child’s age.
Our Philosophy
We are passionate about helping children develop
At Little Market Nursery we have a range of age appropriate stimulating and educational activities to help your child grow, learn and develop.
We work with the children on their language and speech so they get to use a variety of expressions in structured and unplanned scenarios.
Communication will play a key role in the nursery activities your child is involved with and they will learn how to communicate emotions and positive thoughts and develop curiosity.
They will learn to predict situations by talking about events that may occur and identify similarities and differences.
Your child will develop the ability to identify, collect and organise information, and will learn to converse with others by asking appropriate questions and respond to instructions and questions.

Jelly Baby Room
Age Group: Three Months to Two Years
Staff Ratio: 1 - 3
This room is calm, warm and relaxed, offering your child and family a safe place and a range of engaging activities which line up with the requirements of the EYFS. Each child’s routine is based on what they do at home meaning that sleep and meal times are flexible and do vary.
The staff who specialise in working with this age group work very closely with parents and carers as well as relevant professionals to ensure that each child has best personal care. All the equipment, toys and nursery activities are stage and age appropriate and are risk assessed. Through staff observation, your child’s interests and next steps are seen and activities are also planned around this.
Children are encouraged to be independent in all areas of their daily routine. A daily report is provided by your key-person so you know what your child has done during the day.
Jelly Tots Room
Age Group: Two Years to Three Years
Staff Ratio: 1 - 4
In this room children can confidently explore activities that are based around the EYFS in a safe, stimulating and warm environment. There are a variety of activities for them to work through both indoors and outdoors.
Exciting opportunities are available for you child such as learning new languages like Turkish and Punjabi which are included into their daily routine.
We work closely with parents to encourage and support children as they achieve milestones like toilet training.
Each child has a key-person who will work in close partnership with parents and carers, providing a daily communication book in order to let you know what your child has experienced in the day.
Jelly Beans Room
Age Group: Three Years to Four Years
Staff Ratio: 1 - 8
This room provides a stimulating, warm environment for your child to enjoy through various activities. There’s also a sensory area (which is available to all children), an outdoor garden which gives them plenty of room to move around.
All nursery activities are based on the EYFS covering the seven areas, and the children get to build on their previous knowledge by developing new interests and trying out new experiences such as learning languages like French and Spanish.
Each child has a key-person who will work in close partnership with parents/carers, providing a daily communication book so you know what your child has experienced in the day.
